Watch the Canadian Scream Queens in the “Save Yourself” Teaser

Our favourite Canadian scream queens Tristan Risk (American Mary) and Jessica Cameron (Truth or Dare) join Sydney Kondruss (The Drownsman) and Ry Barrett (The Demolisher) to lead the cast of Ryan M. Andrews‘ upcoming horror film SAVE YOURSELF.

Save Yourself tells the story of five female filmmakers en route to their big L.A. premiere. But when one of them goes missing at a rest stop, the women soon find themselves pitted against a deranged scientist hell-bent on using them for his mysterious research.

This thrilling, character driven horror is finishing post-production and looking forward to hitting the festival circuit this year. SAVE YOURSELF features strong, self-reliant characters while having fun with female stereotypes in the horror genre. Producer Jessica Cameron had this to say about the film; “The characters are not just sexy, women in modern horror well.”

Director Ryan M. Andrews (Sick Survive The Night) couldn’t be happier with how the film turned out. “SAVE YOURSELF lures you in with fun, bad-ass characters and a traditional horror setup. But then we turn things on its head, introducing all these thriller and dramatic elements that really make all the characters so unique and intelligent. It’s sexy, exciting and just like David Cronenberg says, ‘just because you’re making a horror film, doesn’t mean you can’t make an artful film’.”

SAVE YOURSELF is currently in post-production at this time, Andrews has plans to take the film to the festival circuit so if this has wet your whistle then check out the films official Facebook page here.

Also, here are a few images from the film to look over in the meantime:

Ry Barrett takes no prisoners in THE DEMOLISHER trailer

Gabriel Carrer, the director of In The House of Files and If A Tree Falls is certainly no stranger to the Thriller genre. In his latest project, Carrer teams up with actor Ry Barrett for THE DEMOLISHER, a psychological revenge thriller and we are thrilled to share the first trailer with you courtesy of Latefox Pictures.

Ry Barrett in The Demolisher (2015)

The Demolisher is the story of Bruce (Ry Barrett), an ordinary repairman tormented by a crippling sense of responsibility for his wife Samantha (Tianna Nori), the survivor of a gang-related assault. Bruce’s increasing hyper-sensitivity to the injustice suffered by his wife steer him down a dark path of vigilantism, and with his rapidly disintegrating mental health, paranoia and overwhelming sense of doom. A character study and a psychological examination of trauma, The Demolisher is an unapologetic portrayal of what can happen when a fragile mind is pushed too far.

It may echoe similar sentiments to The Punisher comic but from the looks of the trailer Carrer’s film has much more to offer than bloody vengeful violence at its heart. Dark, Gritty and grounded in realism, The Demolisher appears to be a film that is not only going to be visually striking but it will also make audience think on a much deeper level. We can’t wait to see more.

First Pan Trailer Offers A New Take On Neverland

Peter Pan has appeared on our screens more than almost any other fairy tale character, but Joe Wright’s new take on the classic story promises to offer a bold new interpretation for modern audiences, which should help separate Pan from the likes of Hook and Disney’s Peter Pan.

The man behind the lush aesthetics of Atonement and Anna Karenina has built an an impressive new world in the first trailer for Pan. Filled with mesmerizing colors and larger than life visuals, the look of Neverland stands in direct contrast with the miserable orphanage which Pan (Levi Miller) is plucked from by Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman) and his crew. Intrigued? Neverland is only one click away…

The tone of Pan is clearly family orientated, so Wright will have to tread a fine line between the camp fun of the source material and still find a way to keep the adults from falling asleep in the cinema. Either way, Jackman’s flamboyant turn as Blackbeard will certainly raise a few eyebrows and there’s more than enough eye candy available with Amanda Seyfried and Garrett Hedlund in the roles of Pan’s Mother and Hook.

What do you think of the first trailer for Pan? Will Joe Wright’s latest reignite the success of his earlier features? Will Hedlund make his own mark on the role of Hook? And will we be able to look past that bloody cockney accent Miller’s putting on for the title role? Let us know in the comments section below!

Pan will fly into cinemas on July 17, 2015.

Into The Woods Trailer – Meryl Streep Sings… And It’s Not Abba!

Why watch one fairy tale when you can have them all?

Rob Marshall’s adaptation of the Tony-winning musical Into The Woods combines the most famous Brothers Grimm fairy tales into one story, featuring classic characters such as Cinderella, Rapunzel and Little Red Hiding Hood all together on the big screen. The plot is tied together by a new story that revolves around the curse an evil witch has placed on a baker and his wife.

While Cher, Robin Williams and Goldie Hawn were all linked to roles for Into The Woods back in the early nineties, Marshall has since assembled an impressive cast of his own for this adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s classic show, including Johnny Depp, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep in her first musical since Mamma Mia.

Fortunately, Into The Woods doesn’t feature any more Abba, but the big screen adaptation will include a number of popular songs from the stage show, such as “Agony,” “Children Will Listen,” “Giants in the Sky,” “No One Is Alone” and “On the Steps of the Palace.” Eager to hear if the Hollywood stars can match the original Broadway talent? The new trailer is only a click away…

Into The Woods looks far better than other recent fantasy fare such as Maleficent. Although the tone may ultimately come across as somewhat cheesy, that’s befitting of a family musical and aside from James Corden, who clearly sold his soul and possibly more to Hollywood, the cast is also looking fantastic. Maybe even Johnny Depp can reclaim some dignity after the abomination that was Transcendence.

What do you think? Will Into The Woods be the breakout musical of the year? Will Marshall remain faithful to the source material? And will anyone believe that James Corden and Emily Blunt could actually be a couple? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Into the Woods is currently scheduled for release on January 9 2015.

Avengers 2: Age of Ultron Trailer Leaks Early… Nuff Said!

Comic book and movie fans alike collectively gasped today when the first trailer for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron leaked online this morning, days ahead of schedule. Knowing that the footage would be widely reported on, Marvel have quickly responded by releasing an official high quality version of the trailer for us all to dissect over the coming weeks. This is a huge loss for the flagging TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., who were counting on using the trailer to boost ratings next week, but for the impatient fans among us i.e. everyone, this can only be a good thing.

Ok, we’re going to shut up now so you can enjoy the trailer for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron in its all of its glory. If you’re anything like us, you’ll be watching this one over and over in the coming weeks.

After the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, one would presume that Marvel would be keen to continue making movies in the same humorous vein, but judging from the trailer, Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is going to be the darkest film released by the studio yet. Anyone who worried that the villain Ultron could come across as a soulless CGI creation should put their fears aside. James Spader’s voice is absolutely chilling in the role and Ultron’s appearance blends seamlessly with the rest of the world that Joss Whedon has created for the Avengers.

Each hero is given a moment to shine in a number of action packed shots that look set to blow people away upon the films release next year. Highlights include Iron Man’s new Hulkbuster armor, a creepy Pinocchio-inspired monologue from Ultron and a lingering shot of Captain America’s ‘indestructible’ shield lying broken on the floor. New characters including Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch also look impressive in their brief appearances, but for some reason, the Vision is conspicuously absent.

The trailer raises a million questions, but in the best kind of way, gearing fans up for the movie’s inevitable domination next year. For now though, we want to know what you think. Has the first official footage for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron lived up to your expectations? How did the twins escape the lab we last saw them in at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier? Will Hawkeye be given the moment in the spotlight which he sorely deserves? And why are the Avengers fighting among themselves once more?

Find out the answers to these questions and more when Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is released on May 1st. 2015.

In The Heart Of The Sea Trailer – Thor VS Moby-Dick

After the huge success of their collaboration on sports drama Rush, Ron Howard and Chris Hemsworth are teaming up again for another film based on true events, In the Heart of the Sea. However, instead of facing bitter rivals and bad driving conditions, Hemsworth and his seafaring crew will have to contend with an eighty-foot sperm whale that destroys their hunting vessel, leaving them stranded at sea with limited supplies.

In the Heart of the Sea is based on the non-fiction book ‘In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex‘, but the events depicted within are more widely known as the inspiration behind Herman Melville’s classic novel Moby-Dick. Howard’s screenplay for In the Heart of the Sea was penned by Charles Leavitt, who wrote the political thriller Blood Diamond and is currently working on two upcoming fantasy films, Seventh Son and Warcraft.

In addition to Hemsworth, Howard’s latest venture boasts a typically impressive cast, including Tom Holland (The Impossible), Cilian Murphy (Batman Begins, Inception), Benjamin Walker (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and Brendan Gleeson (Edge of Tomorrow, Calvary), who recounts the fateful events of 1820 to a young Melville (Ben Whishaw, Skyfall), who then proceeds to fictionalize the story in the form of Moby-Dick. Judging by the trailer, the acting ability of each cast member will be pushed to their limits in this primal story of survival. Don’t believe us? Check out the footage below.

It’s refreshing to watch a high budget trailer that hasn’t been made to promote a film based on a young adult novel or a comic book property, although of course it will be fun to see Thor duke it out with the literary monster Moby-Dick on the big screen. The adrenaline packed visuals look spectacular thanks to the film’s Oscar-winning cinematographer, Anthony Dod Mantle, who also collaborated with Howard on Rush and quite honestly, In the Heart of the Sea looks set to be one of Howard’s best films in years.

Does In the Heart of the Sea have any Oscar winning potential? Can Benjamin Walker regain his dignity after the travesty of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter? And will Thor kick Moby-Dick’s ass?

Find out when In the Heart of the Sea dives into cinemas on March 13, 2015.

TAK3N – Hot Trailer. IT ENDS HERE…

tak3n poster trailer

Well, it seems that the team behind Taken 3, or should we say Tak3n, have levelled up the playing field by having Liam Neeson as the bad guy in their series. Ok that’s a stretch but for once, there is a little freshness in the series as no one’s getting kidnapped this time. Instead, it’s one massive set up as he is framed for the murder of his wife. There is someone out to get him, but he doesn’t know who. And with the police believing he is armed and dangerous, he soon becomes a fugitive on the run,

The brand new trailer has come bounding to the internet and the sultry tones of Neeson still warm the cockles even to this day. Aren’t we all a little bit sick of seeing him with a gun? This is Neeson, he starred in many dramas and is Oscar nominated, but now he has been sandwiched into every conceivable action role possible and it’s become a tad dull. With every single franchise, however, there must be a third slot. Let’s call a spade a spade and a Neeson a Neeson. We just want to see him kick arse and Tak3n will most likely deliver.

Starring Liam Neeson, Forest Whitaker, Frank Dotzler, Sam Spruell and Dougray Scott and directed by Olivier Megaton, Tak3n is out January 8th
