Lionsgate just booted up the official trailer for James Croke’s feature debut, the sci-fi shocker Latency.
Directed and written by Croke, and starring Sasha Luss (Anna, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets) and Alexis Ren (The Enforcer, Second Chances), the film revolves around a young gamer named Hana (Luss), who struggles with acute agoraphobia. She is approached to test out cutting-edge gaming equipment that incorporates AI technology to interpret the neural activity in her brain.
Initially intrigued by the thought of enhancing her gaming experience, Hana enlists the help of her best friend Jen (Ren) to experiment with this new technology. As they delve deeper into the trials, Hana’s perception of reality and her subconscious mind becomes increasingly blurred and she starts to wonder if the device is helping her or serving a more sinister force.
Latency will make its theatrical debut on June 14, 2024, and we’ll leave you with the trailer, showcasing some seriously stunning effects that will leave your mind reeling.
