Prime Video has set a July 15 premiere date for “Ride or Die,” the upcoming action-comedy series starring and executive produced by Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham. All eight episodes will debut globally on the streaming platform in more than 240 countries and territories.
The series, from Paramount Television Studios, was first announced during Prime Video’s second annual Upfront presentation last year. Prime Video has also released a selection of first-look images from the series.
Created by Tessa Coates, “Ride or Die” is executive produced by Coates alongside showrunner Matt Miller and director Peyton Reed.
The series follows best friends Debbie Claybourne (Spencer) and Judith Burton (Waddingham), whose relationship is tested when Judith is revealed to be an international assassin. When a mysterious figure from Judith’s past resurfaces, and a hit goes wrong, the pair are forced to flee together across Europe while being pursued by law enforcement, assassins and dangerous criminals.
The cast also includes Bill Nighy, Ed Skrein, Sylvia Hoeks, Calam Lynch, Savannah Steyn, Jamie Parker and Jacky Ido.
Ride or Die is produced by Paramount Television Studios, Amazon MGM Studios, Andy and Barbara Muschietti’s Double Dream and Spencer’s Orit Entertainment.
Executive producers include Spencer for Orit Entertainment; Waddingham; Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Irene Yeung for Double Dream; as well as Brian Clisham and Stephanie Kluft.
