Sky has debuted the official trailer for “Crystal Lake,” the upcoming eight-part series from A24 and creator, writer, executive producer and showrunner Brad Caleb Kane (“It: Welcome to Derry”).
A prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise, “Crystal Lake” stars Emmy Award winner Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees, the mother of Jason Voorhees. The series is set before the events of the original franchise and follows Pam as she struggles with the death of her young son, who drowned in Crystal Lake almost a year earlier.
When two strangers arrive at Pam’s home and begin investigating her past, a series of disturbing events unfolds, leaving the residents of Crystal Lake questioning who Pam Voorhees really is.
The series also stars William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins and Gwendolyn Sundstrom, with the story expanding the mythology surrounding one of horror’s longest-running franchises through a combination of psychological suspense, mystery and family drama.
Kane serves as creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer, joining A24, original Friday the 13th writer Victor Miller and Horror, Inc. on the series. Executive producers include Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, Stuart Manashil, Tyson Bidner, Michael Lennox and Roy Lee.
“Crystal Lake” will be available exclusively on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK and Ireland from October.
