In celebration of the upcoming released of Disney’s animated feature Planes, last Saturday, 3rd of August, Camp Bestival played witness to a total of 8080 people simultaneously throwing paper aeroplanes to set a new UK record for the most paper aircraft flown at the same time in Britain.
Crowds flocked to the festival’s Lulworth Castle site, within the main stage, where over eight thousand festival goers, including English broadcaster Sara Cox, launched their planes into the sky at the strike of precisely 10:30 am.

From above the world of Cars, Disney’s Planes is an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure about Dusty (the voice of Dane Cook), a plane whose high-flying dream gives a spellbound world the inspiration to soar.
The talented voice cast also includes the likes of Brad Garrett, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John Cleese, Teri Hatcher and Val Kilmer.
Planes will be landing in UK cinemas this August 16, 2013.
