Avengers 2: Age of Ultron Trailer Leaks Early… Nuff Said!

Comic book and movie fans alike collectively gasped today when the first trailer for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron leaked online this morning, days ahead of schedule. Knowing that the footage would be widely reported on, Marvel have quickly responded by releasing an official high quality version of the trailer for us all to dissect over the coming weeks. This is a huge loss for the flagging TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., who were counting on using the trailer to boost ratings next week, but for the impatient fans among us i.e. everyone, this can only be a good thing.

Ok, we’re going to shut up now so you can enjoy the trailer for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron in its all of its glory. If you’re anything like us, you’ll be watching this one over and over in the coming weeks.

After the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, one would presume that Marvel would be keen to continue making movies in the same humorous vein, but judging from the trailer, Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is going to be the darkest film released by the studio yet. Anyone who worried that the villain Ultron could come across as a soulless CGI creation should put their fears aside. James Spader’s voice is absolutely chilling in the role and Ultron’s appearance blends seamlessly with the rest of the world that Joss Whedon has created for the Avengers.

Each hero is given a moment to shine in a number of action packed shots that look set to blow people away upon the films release next year. Highlights include Iron Man’s new Hulkbuster armor, a creepy Pinocchio-inspired monologue from Ultron and a lingering shot of Captain America’s ‘indestructible’ shield lying broken on the floor. New characters including Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch also look impressive in their brief appearances, but for some reason, the Vision is conspicuously absent.

The trailer raises a million questions, but in the best kind of way, gearing fans up for the movie’s inevitable domination next year. For now though, we want to know what you think. Has the first official footage for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron lived up to your expectations? How did the twins escape the lab we last saw them in at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier? Will Hawkeye be given the moment in the spotlight which he sorely deserves? And why are the Avengers fighting among themselves once more?

Find out the answers to these questions and more when Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is released on May 1st. 2015.
