Trailer Alert: Lone Scherfig’s World War II-set Romatic Dramedy THEIR FINEST

Ahead of an April 7th release date, a brand new trailer has just been released for the Lone Scherfig-helmed World War II-set romatic dramedy THEIR FINEST, having caused a serious stir at various festivals including BFI and Sundance.

Penned by Gaby Chiappe,  Their Finest is an adaptation of Lissa Evans’ Orange Prize longlisted novel of the same name, starring Gemma Arterton as Catrin Cole who finds herself hired by the British Ministry of Information as a “slop” scriptwriter charged with bringing “a woman’s touch” to morale-boosting propaganda films. Her natural flair quickly gets her noticed by dashing movie producer Buckley (Sam Claflin) whose path would never have crossed hers in peacetime. As bombs are dropping all around them, Catrin, Buckley and a colorful crew work furiously to make a film that will warm the hearts of the nation. Although Catrin’s artist husband looks down on her job, she quickly discovers there is as much camaraderie, laughter and passion behind the camera as there is onscreen.

Their Finest also stars an extensive ensemble cast including the likes of Bill Nighy, Jack Huston, Rachael Stirling, Richard E. Grant, Helen McCrory, Jeremy Irons and Eddie Marsan. The film opens in theaters this coming April 7th, 2017 and we’ll leave you with the official trailer below…
