New images have been released for the upcoming superhero blockbuster X-Men: Days of Future Past, showing off various returning characters from both the original franchise and the First Class branch. Oh, and Hugh Jackman has his shirt off, obviously.
Based on the beloved Days of Future Past series in Uncanny X-Men, the sequel to surprise hit X-Men: First Class has a lot to live up to. It will feature the younger and older versions of the X-Men and Brotherhood of Mutants banding together to fight a foe that threatens the future of homo-superior.
After the debut of the excellent teaser trailer, the images released are a mixture of stills and behind-the-scenes snapshots featuring several returning cast members such as Shawn Ashmore‘s Iceman and Ellen Page‘s Shadowcat. Elsewhere, there’s a Wolverine, a Mystique and a Professor X to be spotted.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to hit cinemas in May 2014. In the meantime we’ll leave you with the aforementioned images.
