The Bride Side of Life? Netflix’s “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” Trailer Suggests Otherwise

Camila Morrone in Something Very Bad is Going to Happen

Arriving on the notoriously unlucky date of Friday the 13th, Netflix has debuted the official full trailer for the upcoming horror series “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen.” Created and showrun by Haley Z. Boston, the series is set to premiere March 26.

Where Carrie explores a young woman’s coming-of-rage and Rosemary’s Baby confronts the fears surrounding impending motherhood, “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” shifts its focus to the anxieties tied to becoming a wife. With just five days to go before her wedding, Rachel (Camila Morrone — “Daisy Jones & The Six,” Marmalade) travels with her fiancé Nicky (Adam DiMarcoUndertone, “The White Lotus”) to his family’s remote vacation home, where the couple plans to hold an intimate ceremony.

Across the eight-episode series, Boston explores the doubts, fears, and subtle tensions that emerge in the days leading up to a marriage. Blending psychological suspense, dark humor, and elements of horror, the story examines the emotional stakes and uncertainty surrounding a lifelong commitment. The ensemble cast also includes Jennifer Jason Leigh (Single White Female, Possessor), Ted Levine (The Silence of the Lambs), Gus Birney (“The Last Frontier”), Jeff Wilbusch (“The Calling”), Karla Crome (“Under the Dome”), and Zlatko Burić (Wolfs).

Boston previously wrote for “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities” and “Brand New Cherry Flavor,” and serves as both showrunner and executive producer on the new series. The project is also executive produced by the Duffer Brothers, alongside Hilary Leavitt and Andrea Sperling. Weronika Tofilska directs four episodes and executive produces, with Axelle Carolyn and Lisa Brühlmann completing the directing team.

All eight episodes of “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” will debut on Netflix on March 26. The newly released trailer offers audiences their first look at the series’ blend of psychological tension, dark humor, and horror.
