Apple Confirms Series Order for Irreverent Dick Turpin Retelling Starring The Mighty Boosh’s Noel Fielding

Apple has confirmed a full series order for a new as-yet-untitled comedy-adventure series starring English comedian, actor, artist and musician extraordinaire, Noel Fielding (“The Mighty Boosh,” Aaaaaaaah!, “Disenchantment”).

Fielding is set to play legendary British highwayman “Dick Turpin” and, with the co-creator of “The Mighty Boosh” and “Luxury Comedy” involved, the show is guaranteed to serve up an unabashedly unconventional spin on the classic character. This irreverent adaptation features Dick as the most famous, but least likely of highwaymen, whose success is primarily defined by his charm, showmanship and, of course, his big hair. Along with his troupe of lovable scallywags, Dick braves the ups and downs of notoriety, all the while dodging the clutches of the Thieving General.

Produced for Apple TV+ by Big Talk Productions, part of ITV Studios, the series will be directed by Ben Palmer (“The Inbetweeners Movie”, “Breeders”) written and created by Claire Downes, Stuart Lane, Ian Jarvis (“The Outlaws, “The Job Lot”) with Noel Fielding and Jeremy Dyson (“League Of Gentleman”) as Script Consultant. Executive Producers are Kenton Allen, Noel Fielding, Victoria Grew, Matthew Justice and Ben Palmer.
