Meryl Streep to Play Susan Boyle?

Recently we had a Paul Potts biopic and just weeks later the ‘Britains Got Talent’ winner, Susan Boyle recently talked to Metro about the potential of a forthcoming biopic.

The 52-year-old singer has made a name for herself across the country; but is producing a film about the woman’s life really the way to go?

When taking to Metro, Boyle voiced, ‘I wouldn’t like to be in the film myself’ and she fancies someone of a high status to give it a go. Even though Meryl Streep has not given any sort of statement about being asked to work on the film, Boyle seems pretty adamant on her choice.

I’m sure a fraction of the population wouldn’t mind watching a film about the woman’s life, but seriously – aren’t there any original screenplays out there anymore? If Streep accepts to play the role, looking at her track record at least she would bring a strong set of skills to the table. However, playing Susan might be a step down from playing The Iron Lady, Thatcher earlier last year, but all we can do is wait and see.

Big name production company FOX has put their stamp on this biopic which was confirmed earlier this year. Let’s see what they make of it shall we?

The author Gloria Daniels-Moss

Hey guys! I'm Gloria Daniels-Moss, a former student and graduate of Canterbury Christ Church University where I had the pleasure to study English and most importantly Film! I enjoy everything from Silent Cinema to bullets flying across the screen - all thanks to Scorsese and Tarantino. On a rare occasion I have even been known to enjoyed the odd rom-com dare I say it. In my spare time I write reviews on my own blog page (cinelanguage.blogspot.com), am currently writing a TV series and have recently been lucky enough to produce and direct (even star) in some music videos for local artists. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading my work and I promise it won't all be waffle.
