If you’re a regular visitor to Cinema Chords you will know that we have been talking about this one ever since we first caught it at Film4 Frightfest over the August Bank holiday. So without further ado we are delighted to confirm that DEAD SNOW 2: RED VS. DEAD will be available across the UK on DVD and Blu-ray from 12th January 2015.
Returning to direct the sequel to his 2009 cult phenomenon, Tommy Wirkola‘s DEAD SNOW 2: RED VS DEAD has become a hit on the worldwide festival circuit and is in every way bigger, better, bolder and bloodier that the first. Exceeding all expectations without sacrificing pace or humour there is no denying that this is how sequels should be made.
With his friends brutally murdered by the evil General Herzog and his squadron of Nazi zombies, our hero Martin (Vegar Hoel) wakes up in hospital attempting to convince the local authorities that he is not responsible for their deaths. Little do they know the undead fascists are very much still ‘living’ and marching on the town and what’s worse, they have a tank!
Severed heads and shoulders above the first instalment, DEAD SNOW 2: RED VS DEAD has a wickedly dark sense of humour and is truly one of the funniest films of the year filled with outrageous gore and jaw-dropping visual gags that are unlike anything you have ever seen before.
Here is what the press has to say about the film:
“The best Nazi zombie film ever made” Dread Central
“This is not to be missed” Hollywood News
“ A bloody blast from beginning to end” JoBlo
“The ultimate in gross-out horror with heavy helpings of side-splitting humour” CineVue
“The Nazis angrier, the kills gorier, the battles more spectacular, and the taste poorer” IGN
Special Features include:
“The Arm” Short Film VFX Breakdown Director’s Commentary
Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead will be available on Blu-ray & DVD Monday 12th January 2015 with the Dead Snow 1&2 film collection also available on DVD.
