During Warner Bros. Discovery’s CCXP Panel in São Paulo, Brazil, HBO revealed the official trailer and key art for the forthcoming original drama series “True Detective: Night Country” from showrunner, writer and director Issa López (Tigers Are Not Afraid).
López serves as showrunner and writer and directs all the episodes of this all new chapter in the acclaimed series which stars Jodie Foster (The Silence of the Lambs, Taxi Driver), Kali Reis (Catch the Fair One), Finn Bennett (The Nevers, Top Boy), Fiona Shaw (The Harry Potter franchise), with Christopher Eccleston (Shallow Grave, 28 Days Later), Isabella Star LaBlanc (Pet Sematary: Bloodlines), and John Hawkes (Martha Marcy May Marlene, Winter’s Bone). Guest stars include Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, June Thiele, Diane Benson, and Joel D. Montgrand.
As per the official synopsis, “True Detective: Night Country” takes place in Ennis, Alaska. When the long winter night falls, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.
The series is Executive Produced by Issa López and Jodie Foster. Mari Jo Winkler; Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski, and Mark Ceryak are Executive Producers for PASTEL, and Chris Mundy, Alan Page Arriaga, Steve Golin, Richard Brown, Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Cary Joji Fukunaga, Nic Pizzolatto also serve as Executive Procers. The show is also produced by Princess Daazhraii Johnson, Cathy Tagnak Rexford and Sam Breckman.
