‘blur: TO THE END’ Documentary Trailer Chronicles Storied Quartet’s Creative Process After 8-Year Hiatus

The iconic British rock band blur is returning to the spotlight with Altitude today confirming the release of their new feature-length documentary, blur: To The End.

After years out of the public eye, the band made a surprise and emotional comeback in 2023 with their critically acclaimed #1 album ‘The Ballad of Darren,’ their first new record in 8 years. The documentary chronicles this most recent chapter in the storied history of the band, following their creative process as the four friends – and bandmates of three decades – Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree reunited in the studio to record new music before embarking on a series of sold-out shows at London’s legendary Wembley Stadium.

It features exhilarating live performances of blur’s most beloved songs as well as intimate behind-the-scenes footage of the iconic group in the studio and on the road. blur: To The End offers fans an insider’s view into the inner workings of one of the most enduring English rock bands, who have been shaping the sound of British music and culture since the early 1990s.

In the documentary, frontman Albarn admits, “I don’t think any of us thought we’d make another record, especially not a record like this. I suppose that’s why I wanted to try and make it as good as possible.” Speaking later in the film, he added – “We all have hugely involving and complicated lives and we’re so lucky that we get to spend this time together, just the four of us. And that’s the beauty of it…”

blur: To The End is directed by Toby L (Liam Gallagher: Knebworth 22, Bastille: Reorchestrated) and produced by Josh Connolly (Liam Gallagher: Knebworth 22, Bastille: Reorchestrated), via production house Up The Game.

The film will release in UK and Irish cinemas from 19 July and tickets are on sale now with more cinemas being added through to release. Find your local cinema at blur.co.uk. Further details of an international cinema release is coming soon. Until then, we’ll leave you with the trailer to the documentary looks like the perfect great escape from modern rubbish life…
