Barbara Crampton is Love Sick

Not too long ago we announced that American Mary’s Tristan Risk and We Are What We Are‘s Francisco Barreiro had been cast in director Todd E Freeman’s upcoming film Love Sick.

Love Sick tells the story of of a couple whom, after much thought, have decided to part ways. However, after their separation they realise how hard it is to disconnect from one another as the pain of their lies and betrayal begin to manifest physically within both of them and to the others they have become involved with.

This week sees another exciting cast announcement as Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator) has signed on in the role of Mother in the upcoming feature from Polluted Pictures.

Freeman says, “I wrote the role of Tristan’s Mother with Barbara in mind,  but the reality that she’s actually going to be in the film is a little surreal.  I would go through and name every movie that she’s been in and tell you what that movie meant to me when I first saw it… but I’m afraid that would take too much time. That, and everyone knows who she is and the amazing things that she’s contributed to the horror genre throughout the years.  This is a very special movie to me and I can’t even imagine having a better cast assembled to help bring these atrocities to the screen.”

We’re already firm fans of Freeman’s whose previous short M is for Marriage (see below) gave a unique insight into the world of Love Sick and we thought it couldn’t get any better after the casting of Barreiro and Risk but we were wrong. With Barbara Crampton joining the project Freeman’s film is becoming something truly spectacular and we can’t wait to fall in love with it.

Love Sick is currently completing development, including further casting and will be moving towards production in the late spring.
