With the season finale of ‘American Horror Story: Coven’ and the return of ‘The Walking Dead’ right around the corner, now is the perfect time to discuss the upcoming ten-episode supernatural crime saga ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’. That’s right, Robert Rodriguez’s feature From Dusk Till Dawn is getting the TV treatment.
‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ will be centred around bank robber, Seth Gecko and his unpredictable brother Richard as they are en route to Mexico. After taking the former minister, Jacob Fuller and his family hostage so they can use their family RV to make a run for the Mexican border, they take a pitstop at a strip club unaware that it is populated by vampires. The series will not only echo the tone of the film but the series will add new characters and backstories to the fold and it is said that it will expand the mythology behind the vampires.
The series will star D.J. Cotrona (Dear John, G.I. Joe: Retaliation) as Seth Gecko, Zane Holtz (Holes, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) stars as Richie Gecko, and Jesse Garcia (“Sons of Anarchy”) plays Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez, a new character created for the series. Don Johnson (Django Unchained, “Nash Bridges”) will play Sheriff Earl McGraw in a recurring role.
But we have a few stills from the show for you to feast on. The first features D.J. Cotrona and Zane Holtz who play the notorious Gecko brothers from the cult-classic film of the same name. The second image puts a knife to the throat of Eiza González who recreates the role of Santánico Pandemonium, the queen of the vampires.
From the looks of things our leads are much younger than their movie counterparts but with Robert Rodriguez behind the project as executive producer, I’m sure the show is going to be awesome. Don’t believe me? Check out the teaser trailer below.

From Dusk Till Dawn will be given its American premiere on the El Rey Network in March. However, just like those pesky vampires, it’s a pain in the neck that there is still no official UK release date.
