20th Century Studios and Imagine Entertainment have debuted a brand-new trailer for Whalefall, the survival thriller based on Daniel Kraus’ acclaimed eponymous novel. The film is slated to open exclusively in theatres this coming October 16.
Directed by Brian Duffield (Spontaneous, No One Will Save You), Whalefall stars Austin Abrams, Josh Brolin, Elisabeth Shue, John Ortiz, Jane Levy, and Emily Rudd. Duffield co-wrote the screenplay with Kraus.

The film follows Jay Gardiner (Abrams), who dives off the Central Coast of California following the death of his father (Brolin) in search of his remains. During the dive, Jay is swallowed by a massive sperm whale, leaving him trapped inside its body with only an hour of oxygen remaining.
As Jay searches for a way out, the lessons his father taught him become central to his efforts to survive.
