EKKL Entertainment, the newly launched distribution company dedicated to films exploring identity, belief, and belonging, has unveiled the official trailer for She Dances, the feature debut of director Rick Gomez.

She Dances, co-written by Gomez and Steve Zahn, brings together a cast including Steve Zahn (“The White Lotus”), Audrey Zahn (Wildcat), Mackenzie Ziegler (Shakey Grounds, Let Us In), as well as Rosemarie DeWitt (La La Land), Sonequa Martin-Green (“The Walking Dead”), and Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon, “The Lowdown”).

The film made its premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, receiving a positive reception, and has since been showcased at multiple festivals. The story follows a father and daughter as they work to rebuild their relationship while navigating a shared loss, set against the backdrop of the Young Miss Southeast Regional Dance Finals. Themes of resilience, memory, and family connection are central to the narrative.

Rick Gomez and co-writer/star Steve Zahn commented on the film’s upcoming release: “We are thrilled for She Dances to have a theatrical release. We believe the power of the film lies in its shared experience.”

The film is produced by Rick Gomez, Steve Zahn, Jenny Gomez (The Week), Mandi Reno (On Swift Horses), and Coby Toland (An Uncandid Portrait) for Macaroni Art Productions, with Jenifer Westphal (Won’t You Be My Neighbor?) for Wavelength and Jason Reed (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes). Executive producers include Jenifer Westphal, Joe Plummer (32 Sounds), and Brevity Films’ Roland Kassis (In the Shadow of Beirut) and Alyssa Schroeter (The Rose: Come Back to Me).

She Dances is scheduled for nationwide theatrical release on March 27, 2026.
