Pet Sematary Prequel First-Look Teases Terrifying Untold Chapter From Stephen King’s Esteemed Novel

Paramount+ has today revealed that the Pet Sematary franchise is scratching its way through the soil and will emerge from the ashes on October 7 to remind us once again that sometimes dead is better…

The next entry to join the franchise goes by the name of Pet Sematary: Bloodlines and will be a chilling prequel based on a terrifying and untold chapter from Stephen King’s acclaimed novel. The film will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Brazil on Friday, October 6 and in all other international Paramount+ markets on Saturday, October 7.

The highly anticipated film will be featured as part of the Paramount+ Peak Screaming collection, which curates fan-favourite horror films and iconic Halloween episodes from iconic series.

Directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer, in her directorial debut, from a script written by Beer and Jeff Buhler (Pet Sematary (2019), The Prodigy, Studio 666),the film stars Jackson White (“Tell Me Lies,” “Mrs. Fletcher”), Forrest Goodluck (“Lawmen: Bass Reeves,” The Revenant), Jack Mulhern (The Boys in the Boat, “Mare of Easttown”), Henry Thomas (E.T., “The Fall of the House of Usher,” Gangs of New York), Natalie Alyn Lind (“The Goldbergs,” “The Gifted”) and Isabella Star LaBlanc (“True Detective: Night Country,” “Long Slow Exhale”), with Pam Grier (Class of 1999, Jackie Brown, Ghosts of Mars), Samantha Mathis (American Psycho, “Salem’s Lot”), and David Duchovny (“The X-Files,” “Californication”).

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines will transport audiences back to 1969, where we find a young Jud Crandall harbouring dreams of abandoning his hometown of Ludlow, Maine. But, before he gets a chance to leave, deep, dark secrets begin to surface, forcing him to contend with a sinister family secret that will condemn him to a perpetual commitment to Ludlow. Banding with his childhood friends, Jud must stand up against an ancient evil that has plagued Ludlow since the town’s founding and, once unearthed, has the power to destroy everything in its path.

A Paramount+ original movie in association with Paramount Pictures’ Players Label, the film is a Di Bonaventura Pictures Production and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura,and Mark Vahradian.

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines will premiere exclusively on on Paramount+ on Friday, October 6.
