Maxïmo Park Share “The End Can Be As Good As The Start”; an Emotionally-Charged, Toe-Tapping Harbinger of new LP ‘STREAM OF LIFE’

Maxïmo Park, the beloved North East art rockers, have once again wowed their loyal fanbase with the arrival of their latest single, ‘The End Can Be As Good As The Start’. Featuring the band’s unmistakable infectious vitality and poignant lyricism, the track serves as another tantalising harbinger of their imminent album, ‘Stream Of Life’, which drops on 27 September via Lower Third.

The new single comes in the wake of the band’s recent intimate election day special event, which took place at Newcastle’s Star & Shadow cinema. During this one-off appearance, they debuted a selection of songs from the upcoming album and raised money for local food banks in the process.

Last month, the band released the sleek and strident single “Your Own Worst Enemy,” the first taste of their new album. A song that ruminates on the cyclical nature of making mistakes. Their new track “The End Can Be As Good As The Start” finds them effortlessly gliding through a brisk, driving power-pop soundscape. Yet, just beneath the toe-tapping melodies lies a profound meditation on the complexities of keeping hope and belief in the future alive, even in times of uncertainty and adversity.

As described by lead singer Paul Smith, the track is, “an exuberant New Wave-y alt-pop-rocker about faith, solidarity and sustaining relationships in the face of society’s structural hurdles.”

‘Stream of Life’ is available to pre-order here now and you can stream ‘The End Can Be As Good As The Start’ here and enjoy the music video below.

Tickets are also on sale for the band’s 2024 headline UK / EU tour dates here.
