INTERVIEW: Ema Horvath Talks ‘WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE’ and Renny Harlin’s ‘THE STRANGERS’ Reboot Trilogy

Ben Epstein‘s (“In the Vault,” “Happyland”) coming-of-age, debate-sparking drama Who Are You People is all set to receive its North American February 24th, 2023 theatrical day and date release via Gravitas Ventures.

Written and directed by Epstein, and starring Ema Horvath (“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” What Lies Below),  Devon Sawa (Final Destination, Hunter Hunter, “Chucky”),  Yeardley Smith (“The Simpsons,” Maximum Overdrive), Peter Parros (“Real Genius,” “Knight Rider”), Siddharth Dhananjay (Bloodshot, “Undone”), Reid Miller (Joe Bell, “You”),  with John Ales (“Euphoria,” True Story”), and Alyssa Milano (“Charmed”, Commando), Who Are You People chronicles how, after a bungled attempt to seduce her teacher, 16-year-old Alex (Horvath) escapes being sent to boarding school to go off in search of her biological father (Sawa) that her mother (Milano) and presumed father (Ales) had kept a secret from her and learn the deep, dark secret of her roots.

Who Are You People received its world premiere at last year’s Mammoth Film Festival which saw Horvath take home the coveted Best Actress award.

In anticipation the film’s release this Friday, CinemaChords’ Howard Gorman sat down with Horvath, who shared her appreciation for the film’s depate-sparking narrative, working with Devon Sawa and Alyssa Milano on such complicated themes, before revealing what she could about having recently wrapped on Renny Harlin’s The Stranger’s reboot which will form the first part of a new trilogy.
