Inescapable Destiny Gives Way to Violence in Official Trailer for Lionsgate’s ‘5 LBS OF PRESSURE’

The official trailer for feature film and commercial writer/director Phil Allocco‘s gripping new action-thriller 5 Lbs of Pressure promises a rollercoaster ride of redemption and retribution.

Luke Evans stars as Adam, an ex-con back in his old neighborhood after serving a 16-year stretch for murder, walking a rocky path of forgiveness toward the son who grew up without him, while the bitter, volatile brother of the youth he killed looms in the background. Meanwhile, Mike (Rory Culkin), sick of doing the bidding of his drug-dealing uncle (Alex Pettyfer), is desperate to leave his sordid life behind. When Adam and Mike’s paths converge, inescapable destiny will give way to violence…and a final, fleeting shot at redemption.

The cast is rounded out with Zac Adams (Crypto, Stakeout), Rudy Pankow (Uncharted, “Outer Banks”), Stephanie Leonidas (“Snatch,” “American Gothic”), Savannah Steyn (“Intergalactic,” Crawl), and Lorraine Burroughs (“Red Election”, “Pennyworth”).

Allocco’s work has received over 60 awards and nominations and he was one of the directors chosen by Steven Spielberg from a worldwide search of over 12,000 directors for his US TV series “On the Lot” for FOX TV. His feature film The Truth About Lies opened theatrically in 2017, taking home 14 festival awards, including ‘The Best Of Fest’ at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

With its gritty themes of family, betrayal and second chances, 5 Lbs of Pressure looks to pack an emotional punch when it hits theaters, on digital and on demand on March 8, 2024.
