First Trailer for A24’s ‘HERETIC’ Serves Harsh Reminder that the Door to Happiness Typically Swings Inwards

Question everything!

A24 have today debuted the first official trailer for Scott Beck and Bryan Woods‘ (Haunt, 65) spine-chilling psychological shocker, Heretic.

Written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, and starring Hugh Grant (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Extreme Measures), Sophie Thatcher (“Yellowjackets”, The Boogeyman), Chloe East (The Fabelmans, The Wolf of Snow Hollow), Heretic centers around two young Mormon missionaries who are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door. Greeted by a diabolical Mr. Reed (Grant), they get caught up in his deadly game of cat-and-mouse.

The film also features Elle McKinnon, River Codack, Carolyn Adair, Stephanie Lavigne, and Elle Young.

Despite the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, the production secured an interim agreement that permitted filming to proceed. Principal photography took place in Vancouver from October 3 to November 16, 2023.

We’ll leave you with a taste of what sinister games Grant’s antagonist has planned to unleash on his victims when Heretic receives a wide theatrical release on November 15, 2024.
