Brand-New Bangers: Noteworthy Nods 2025 – Batch #22

Another week, another onslaught of sonic goodness — and thanks to your ever-sharp recommendations, our Noteworthy Nods playlist is absolutely heaving with tracks well worth your time. As always, you’ve got great taste — and we’re here to help you discover even more of it.

This week’s picks cover plenty of ground — from bruising alt-rock to infectious indie pop — and it’s fair to say there’s a bit of something for everyone. If you’ve been waiting for a decent excuse to get stuck into new music, this is it.

Let’s have a look at some of the standouts:

First up, The Reytons have dropped ‘Guilt Trip’, and it’s a proper shift in gear. Heavier, darker, and a bit more rough around the edges than what we’ve heard before. There’s a definite nod to The Prodigy in the production but it still sounds very much like them. It’s confident without trying too hard, and shows a band clearly comfortable pushing their own boundaries.

Reverend & The Makers, meanwhile, are back with ‘Haircut’ — a catchy-as-anything number lifted from upcoming album Is This How Happiness Feels? (due 24 April via Distiller). It’s upbeat, sharp, and surprisingly addictive. Vicky McClure features too, adding a bit of extra punch. Frontman Jon McClure reckons it’s the “catchiest” they’ve ever been — and to be fair, he might be right.

Elsewhere, Suede continue their recent run of form with ‘Dancing with the Europeans’. It’s a lush, euphoric number that taps into themes of isolation and togetherness — written off the back of a gig in Spain that clearly left its mark. Classic Suede in a lot of ways: cinematic, emotional, but not overblown. The track landed just ahead of today’s release of their tenth studio album Antidepressants, out now via BMG.

Ash also make a welcome appearance this week with ‘Fun People’ — a punchy, scrappy track that leans hard into post-punk energy. It’s all jagged guitars, driving rhythm, and a cheeky bit of chaos. And they’ve brought along Graham Coxon for good measure — his signature guitar work and vocals giving it an extra edge. Loud, fun, and unapologetically rowdy.

And that’s just scratching the surface. The full playlist runs just over an hour and is packed with new releases worth sticking with — whether you’re looking for something to soundtrack your weekend, or just need a bit of a musical reset.

Supporting new artists has always been part of what we’re about. Sharing a track you’ve come across, posting it on socials, or even just adding it to a playlist can go a long way. For artists trying to get their music out there, every bit of support helps.

So if you’ve discovered something we’ve missed, give us a nudge. Whether it’s in the comments, on Instagram, Facebook, X or via a quick message to Howard Gorman (whose DMs are wide open), we’re always keen to hear what’s next.

Alongside the weekly track picks, our Noteworthy section also features regular videocast interviews with emerging and established artists — the kind of talent we believe deserves your attention. You can watch/rewatch all previous episodes via the video playlist (here) featuring the likes of The Slow Readers Club, The Lottery Winners, The Lilacs, Starsailor, Kyle Falconer, Cast, Shed Seven, Turin Brakes, Embrace, and many more.
