A24 Drops First Full ‘BRING HER BACK’ Trailer: Is the Philippou Brothers’ New Horror the Next Must-See Nightmare?

Danny and Michael Philippou, the acclaimed filmmakers behind Talk to Me, return with their latest chilling project, Bring Her BackA24 has just unveiled the first official trailer, offering a dark and intriguing preview of what looks set to be another unnerving, suspense-filled journey into the unknown.

Although the plot remains largely under wraps, the trailer hints at a story exploring themes of loss, grief, and the dangerous consequences of interfering with forces we don’t fully understand—echoing the unsettling tension that made Talk to Me so gripping. The film features a standout cast, including Billy Barratt (“Invasion,” Kraven The Hunter), Sora Wong, and Sally Hawkins (The Shape of WaterPaddington).

Bring Her Back benefits from the same powerhouse behind-the-scenes team that helped shape Talk to Me, with producers Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton of Causeway Films, known for their work on The Babadook and The Nightingale. The film was shot last fall in New Zealand, with co-financing from Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga (New Zealand Film Commission) and the Australian Film and Television Production Fund.

The Philippou brothers’ meteoric rise in the horror genre began with Talk to Me, which premiered at Sundance 2023’s Midnight Selections. The film went on to become A24’s highest-grossing domestic horror release, earning nearly $50 million in the U.S. and over $92 million worldwide, all against a modest $4.5 million budget. While a sequel to Talk to Me is already in development, Bring Her Back is already stirring up excitement, with the latest trailer teasing a fresh, spine-chilling narrative that promises to haunt audiences long after the credits roll.

Bring Her Back will hit theaters on June 15th. If the trailer is any indication, the Philippou brothers will once again redefine horror, delivering a fresh, relentless experience that fans won’t be able to look away from—no matter how badly they’ll want to.
