Defiant Britpop survivors Shed Seven are keeping their late-career momentum at a maximum high as they continue to chase rainbows. Fresh off a massive couple of years, the York quintet has announced that their self-titled seventh studio album will arrive on January 8, 2027, via Cooking Vinyl.
To kick off the rollout, the band debuted a harbinger of what’s to come in the form of lead single, “Stand Together,” during an acoustic session on Radio X earlier today. Frontman Rick Witter dubs the track as a “statement of intent” and a “rallying cry for some kind of unity.”
The announcement lands amidst a phenomenal, late-career renaissance for the band. In 2024, they pulled off the rare feat of scoring all of two UK Number 1 albums in a single calendar year (A Matter of Time and Liquid Gold) putting them in the historic company of iconic artists such as David Bowie and Elton John. Not content with rewriting the chart history books, they swiftly followed their winning streak with a triumphant, field-packing Glastonbury set and took home a fan-voted Best Live Act trophy at the Independent Music Awards for good measure.
For those fans gutted to have missed out on tickets to tonight’s instantly sold-out acoustic gig at London’s iconic 100 Club, all’s not lost as the band will be beaming the entire show straight into your living room. Compered by indie radio legend Steve Lamacq, the full livestream kicks off on YouTube tonight at 8pm BST, serving as the ultimate warm-up as they gear up for the massive tenth anniversary of their legendary “Shedcember” tour.
You can watch the 100 Club livestream tonight on YouTube and pre-order the new album via the Shed Seven Store.
