Bleecker Street has debuted the first teaser trailer for The Third Parent, a supernatural shocker directed and written by David Michaels (Chinatown).
Adapted from Elias Witherow’s viral 2016 Tommy Taffy “creepypasta” stories first published on Reddit’s r/nosleep subreddit, the film centers on a Fourth of July celebration interrupted by a chilling, mannequin-like entity known as Tommy Taffy. Disguising himself as a human to infiltrate a suburban household, the figure imposes an authoritarian rule over an unsuspecting family.

The original internet-based story spawned a wider horror saga exploring the uncanny valley, forced compliance, and generational trauma, going viral via the online horror communities, YouTube narrators, and The NoSleep Podcast before being expanded into a full-length novel by Witherow.
The feature stars Crispin Glover as the antagonist Tommy Taffy, alongside Rob Lowe and Roselyn Sánchez.
The film is produced by Gary Michael Walters, Jonathan Halperyn, Rob Lowe, and Daniel Kresmery.
Bleecker Street has slated The Third Parent for a theatrical release this winter.
