Casting developments for Season 2 of “Dexter: Resurrection” continue to emerge, with Brian Cox and Uma Thurman now both confirmed to take on regular roles in the next entry in the Dexter saga.
Cox will play Don Frampt, also known as the New York Ripper, a figure who was tied to a string of murders that once unsettled New York City’s citizens. While the character is said to no longer be actively killing, it has been revealed that he is maintaining his notoriety by continuing to provoke and unsettle those traumatized by his earlier crimes.
Thurman, meanwhile, will return as Charley, the former Special Operations officer previously aligned with Leon Prater (played by Peter Dinklage). In Season 1, Charley broke away from Prater after uncovering his betrayal and left the city with her mother.
The first season, overseen by showrunner Clyde Phillips, follows Dexter after surviving a gunshot wound inflicted by his son. On regaining consciousness, he discovered that Harrison (Jack Alcott), had disappeared. Following his leads, Dexter tracked him down to New York City, where unresolved aspects of his past soon resurface. Among those tracking him is Angel Batista (David Zayas), whose investigation pointed towards all the more scrutiny around Dexter’s history.
Additional cast members in Season 1 included Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Emilia Suárez, and James Remar. Guest appearances featured Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian.
The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios in collaboration with Counterpart Studios, with executive producers including Hall, Phillips, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean, and Katrina Mathewson.
Season 1 of “Dexter: Resurrection” is currently streaming on Paramount+ via its premium subscription offering.
