‘ZERO’ Trailer: Dakar’s Streets Explode in ‘Crank’-Esque Race Against the Clock

Get ready for a bold and visceral ride in Zero, the forthcoming action-thriller directed by Jean Luc Herbulot – director of the acclaimed TIFF Midnight Madness-selected supernatural thriller Saloum – from a script he co-wrote with one of the film’s lead cast members, Hus Miller (You Can’t Say No).

Already having receiving comparisons to Crank (2006) and Game Night (2018), the film takes place in the bustling streets of Dakar, Senegal, following two strangers who wake up with bombs strapped to their chests, counting down from just ten hours. Under the control of a mysterious voice, the pair must carry out a series of chaotic missions that come with devastating consequences. As the city erupts in protest against Western influence, the reluctant partners must race against time in a desperate bid for redemption. It’s a darkly humorous and thrilling exploration of survival, connection, and the search for meaning in a world on the brink of collapse.

Starring Hus Miller, Cam McHarg (“The Heights”), Gary Dourdan (Impostor, The Expendables 3), Roger Sallah (“The Restaurant”), and Moran Rosenblatt (“Fauda”), Zero promises to be a cinematic rollercoaster. Based on reviews coming out of festivals where the film has already played, such as Beyond Fest and Sitges, the film is said to balance humor and horror, action and drama, while telling a small story with far-reaching consequences. Consequences that deserve a great deal of soul-searching and conversation, meaning this is one film you won’t want to miss.

Zero is set to hit theaters and VOD on April 11.
