A24’s ‘I SAW THE TV GLOW’: Trailer for Jane Schoenbrun’s Psychodrama Shocker Oozes Retro Dread

A24 has today unveiled the first official trailer for Jane Schoenbrun‘s (We’re All Going to the World’s Fair) once-in-a-generation new horror film I Saw the TV Glow, starring Justice Smith (The Voyeurs, Sharper) and Brigette Lundy-Paine (Amelia’s Children, “Atypical”).

Written and directed by Schoenbrun, this homage to the VHS era film centers around teenager Owen who is just trying to make it through life in the suburbs when his classmate introduces him to a mysterious late-night TV show — a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the television, Owen’s view of reality begins to crack.

The cast is also rounded out with Ian Foreman (“Let The Right One In”), Helena Howard (“The Wilds”), Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst, and Danielle Deadwyler (Parallel). The film also features new original music by Alex G, Caroline Polachek, Snail Mail, Yeule, and more.

The movie premiered in the Midnight section at this year’s Sundance Film Festival before going on to screen at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival in the Panorama section and it will play at this year’s South by Southwest on March 10, 2024.

I Saw the TV Glow will then go on to release in theaters on May 3 so, until then, we’ll leave you with the aforementioned trailer that is guaranteed to draw you in and dare you to let go…
