A24 Debut Trailer for Alex Garland’s ‘CIVIL WAR’; Dubbed a “Companion Piece” to ‘MEN’

A24 has today debuted the first official trailer for Alex Garland‘s (Ex Machina, Annihilation) forthcoming epic war film Civil War which is scheduled for release in theaters and IMAX everywhere on April 26, 2024.

Written and directed by Garland, and starring Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man, “Fargo”), Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla, Bad Times at the El Royale), Wagner Moura (The Gray Man, “Shining Girls”), Stephen McKinley Henderson (Fences, Dune), and Nick Offerman (“The Last of Us”, “Devs”), the film film chronicles a race to the White Hose in a near-future America during a civil war.

The ensemble cast also features Jesse Plemons (Killers of the Flower Moon, The Power of the Dog), Sonoya Mizuno (Men, “Devs”), Jefferson White (“Yellowstone”), and Karl Glusman (Reptile, Nocturnal Animals).

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Garland described the film as a companion piece to his previous feature, Men, adding that it is “set at an indeterminate point in the future – just far enough ahead for me to add a conceit – and serves as a sci-fi allegory for our currently polarised predicament”.

Civil War is produced by Gregory Goodman (Three Kings, Captain Phillips), Andrew Macdonald (Shallow Grave, 28 Days Later), Allon Reich (Dredd, Dirty Pretty Things), with Joanne Smith (Men) serving as associate producer and Kenneth Yu (“Euphoria”) as co-producer.

We’ll leave you with the trailer that shows that “IN THIS LAND, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE…”
