First Trailer for Viral Sensation to Big-Screen Adaptation ‘THE MACHINE’ Starring Bert Kreicsher and Mark Hamill

Sony Pictures Releasing has today debuted the first official trailer for Peter Atencio’s (“Jean-Claude Van Johnson,” Keanu) The Machine, an action comedy feature based on the 2016 stand-up routine of the same name created by Bert Kreicsher.

Directed by Atencio, from a script penned by Kevin Biegel (“Cougar Town,” “The Real O’Neals”) and Scotty Landes (Ma, “Who Is America?”), and starring Bert Kreicsher himself and Mark Hamill, The Machine takes place 23 years after the original story which inspired it with Bert (Kreischer) facing familial crisis and the arrival of his estranged father (Mark Hamill) at the same time as the ghost of his booze-soaked past arrives: a murderous mobster (Iva Babić) hellbent on kidnapping Bert back to the motherland to atone for his crimes. Together, he and his father must retrace the steps of his younger self (Jimmy Tatro) in the midst of a war between a sociopathic crime family while they attempt to find common ground.

The cast is rounded out by Robert Maaser, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Jess Gabor, Rita Bernard Shaw, Nikola Đuričko, Oleg Taktarov, Amelie Villers and Mercedes de la Cruz.

The Machine releases only in cinemas on May 31 and, in the meantime, we’ll leave you with the aforementioned trailer to discover how the viral sensation will play out on the big screen.
