INTERVIEW: Full Cast on Fitting in With Society as “The Villains of Valley View” on Disney Channel

Every year on April 28, National Superhero Day is celebrated to honour superheroes, both real and fictional, and Disney is taking part in the festivities this year, premiering two brand new series about superheroes and supervillains: “Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion” and “The Villains of Valley View,” respectively.

Focusing on the supervillain side of Disney’s celebrations, “The Villains of Valley View” focuses on The Maddens, a family of raucous supervillains who are forced to change their identities and relocate to a sleepy Texas suburb when teenage daughter Amy Madden/Havoc (Isabella Papas) stands up to the head of the League of Villains. On arriving at their new abode, with the help of an effervescent new neighbor, Hartley (Kayden Muller-Janssen), Amy must somehow hide her superpowers and quell her villainous nature in favor of something she and the rest of her family have fought against all their lives: being normal.

Pappas and Muller-Janssen head up a talented ensemble cast including Lucy Davis (“Chilling Adventure of Sabrina”), James Patrick Stuart (“General Hospital”), Malachi Barton (Disney Channel’s “Under Wraps”), Reed Horstmann (“The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia”) and Patricia Belcher (“The Week of”).

In anticipation of “The Villains of Valley View” premiering on Disney Channel this Friday, June 3, and on Disney+ on Wednesday, June 22, CinemaChords’ Howard Gorman caught up with the entire family and their brand new neighbor to find out just how complicated it is for supervillains to fit in with the rest of the world.
