Tom Hughes Discusses the Social Realism of the Isolation Addressed in Psychological Shocker ‘SHEPHERD’

Shepherd, a heavily atmospheric psychological horror from welsh director Russell Owen, arrives on Blu Ray and digital platforms on 21 February through Darkland Distribution.

Featuring a tremendous cast – Tom Hughes, Kate Dickie and Greta Scacchi – this tense and terrifying tale sees Eric Black (Hughes), a man running from his past, take a job as a shepherd on a remote island. Left alone with just his thoughts and faithful dog, it soon becomes clear that he is being haunted by more than just his memories.

With the film in US theaters now, CinemaChords’ Ashley Northey flocked onto a Zoom call with the film’s lead, Hughes who revealed how he is a very social creature who is drawn to films brimming with social realism and how storyboarding played a much more pivotal role in the rehearsal process that it typically does.

SHEPHERD is currently in Theaters and available On Demand and Digital on May 10th.
