ARROW Premieres Jim Cummings & PJ McCabe’s Mystery Thriller ‘THE BETA TEST’ in March

Streaming service ARROW has just announced that it will debut Jim Cummings and PJ McCabe‘s pitch-black comedy thriller The Beta Test this March 11th, 2022.

Written by, directed by, and starring Cummings and McCabe, The Beta Test unfolds in the cut-throat world of Hollywood agents. The film’s protagonist, Jordan (Cummings), leads a stressed-out life at work, his agency is treading water, and his marriage plans are a massive distraction to signing a big new client. But then, an anonymous invitation for an anonymous sexual encounter lands in his mailbox, luring Jordan into a mysterious world of anonymous infidelity, resulting in absolute chaos.

Reminiscent of 2015’s The Invitation and a quasi companion piece to this year’s Laguna Ave, the film boasts a superb lead performance from Cummings (the man behind 2018’s SXSW Grand Jury Prize winner Thunder Road). Smartly scripted, utterly unpredictable, and strangely moving and erotic, The Beta Test is one of those deliciously unclassifiable and hugely entertaining films, deconstructing post-Weinstein panicked Hollywood with wildly enjoyable glee.
