INTERVIEW: Russell Owen on His Unnerving Psychological Shocker, ‘SHEPHERD’

Shepherd, a heavily atmospheric psychological horror from welsh director Russell Owen, arrives on Blu Ray and digital platforms on 21 February through Darkland Distribution.

Featuring a tremendous cast – Tom Hughes, Kate Dickie and Greta Scacchi – this tense and terrifying tale sees Eric Black (Hughes), a man running from his past, take a job as a shepherd on a remote island. Left alone with just his thoughts and faithful dog, it soon becomes clear that he is being haunted by more than just his memories.

In anticipation of Shepherd’s UK home entertainment release, Cinema Chords’ Ashley Northey flocked to a Zoom call with the film’s writer/director to discuss the movie’s themes and its decade-long journey from script to screen.
