Behind the Camera Glimpse at John Schneider’s Horror-Comedy ‘Smothered’

Set for a late 2014 release, Fairlight Films release a behind-the-scenes promo video for Smothered, a film which does for horror what The Expendables does for action.

Written & directed by John Schneider (Smallville, Nip/Tuck) the horror-comedy Smothered teams up horror icons Kane Hodder (Freddy vs. Jason, Hatchet), Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), Don Shanks (Halloween 5), and R.A Mihailoff (Leatherface : Texas Chainsaw Massacre III), playing themselves as they attend a small, disheartening horror-convention on Friday the 13th. Running out of patience and money the icons accept a cash-offer to work their magic and scare everyone at a local trailer park. Scheming a plan to scare the locals they find the tables turned on them as they become the prey.

Further to the film’s official premiere in New Orleans back in May early reviews were quick to praise it comparing it to last year’s highly successful This is the End which teamed up Seth Rogen, James Franco, Danny McBride and Jay Baruchel who also played themselves.

Alongside the terror team-up Smothered also features Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes), Brea Grant (Halloween II), John Kassir (‘The Crypt Keeper’), Dane Rhodes (True Detective), Shanna Forrestall (The Last Exorcism), John Schneider (Smallville), Adria Tennor (Mad Men), Andrew Bowen (Magic City), and Amy Brassette (Pawn Shop Chronicles). We hope to be able to confirm an exact release date some time soon but in the meantime enjoy this exclusive glimpse behind the camera during the making of the film.

Synopsis: Five iconic horror stars join forces to haunt a trailer park, but the tables turn rather quickly…
