WARDRIVER Trailer: Dane DeHaan Stars in Rebecca Thomas’ High-Stakes Cyber-Heist Thriller

The Avenue has released the official trailer and confirmed release schedule for Wardriver, an upcoming action crime thriller directed by Rebecca Thomas (When the Streetlights Go On).

The film, written by Daniel Casey (Fast & Furious 9, Kin), stars Dane DeHaan (Oppenheimer, A Cure for Wellness), Sasha Calle (The Rip, The Flash), Mamoudou Athie (Jurassic World: Dominion, “Archive 81”), and Jeffrey Donovan (“Burn Notice”, Honest Thief).

Wardriver follows Cole (DeHaan), a hacker who steals from others while driving through the city – a practice known as “wardriving.” He justifies his actions as harmless until he becomes involved in a high-stakes cyber-heist orchestrated by black-market tech dealer Oscar (Athie). The heist draws in a mob lawyer (Donovan) and Sarah (Calle), who is used to launder illicit funds, placing Cole in a dangerous game of deception and survival.

Thomas described her approach to the story as “a character study built on restraint, guilt, and quiet delusion,” noting that Cole “struck a nerve. A lonely figure stealing money under the guise of helping—his Robin Hood logic felt eerily familiar.” She added that the film’s visual style reflects this focus, with “the camera stay[ing] close to Cole—measured, patient, always watching. Every gesture, every silence is intentional.”

The film’s production team comprises David M. Wulf, Trevor White, Tim White, Arianne Fraser, and Delphine Perrier as producers, with Daniel Casey and Dane DeHaan also serving as producers. Executive producers are Kevin Matusow, Lee Broda, Santosh Govindaraju, Jack Lehr, Jason Olsen, and Morgan Magleby.

Wardriver will premiere in cinemas on 20 March, followed by a digital release on 27 March.
