In brief: So we all know that James Cameron has had pen flowing on paper for the long-gestating Avatar sequels for some time now but it looks like it may have dawned on him that he is suffering a touch of the old writer’s block as he has called out for help.
Cameron has approached War of The Worlds and The Black Dahlia scribe Josh Friedman to add his touch to the next two Avatar sequels. This is of interest given the fact Friedman recently write the sci-fi series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles adapted from one of Cameron’s original creations.
As the script is clearly in the rewriting stages there are no specifics as to the plot or any ideas as to when Avatar 2 is expected to hit cinemas. At the rate it is going though, we don’t expect anything before 2015. It certainly is admirable that Cameron is committed to delivering an Avatar sequel that proves as innovative on both a technological and narrative level as the highly-successful predecessor. The only concern is how long the public’s patience can be put to the test. Are you happy to wait? Let us know below…
