The acclaimed filmmaking duo, Danny and Michael Philippou (Talk to Me) return with their latest project, Bring Her Back. A24 just released the first official trailer, offering a brief yet ominous preview of the forthcoming film, signaling another potential milestone in terror.

While the plot remains mostly under wraps, the trailer hints that the film will explore themes of youth, a familiar element from Talk to Me. The film features a strong cast, including Billy Barratt (“Invasion,” Kraven The Hunter), Sora Wong, and Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water, Paddington).
Behind the scenes, Bring Her Back boasts the same influential producers who contributed to Talk to Me—Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton of Causeway Films, whose previous work includes The Babadook and The Nightingale. The film was shot in Australia last summer, with co-financing from Salmira Productions and the South Australian Film Corporation.
The distribution deal with Sony Pictures was secured by Joe Matukewicz (President, Worldwide Acquisitions), Virginia Longmuir (EVP, Business Affairs), and Elan Kovo (VP, Business Development).

The Philippou brothers’ meteoric rise in the industry began with Talk to Me, which premiered at Sundance 2023’s Midnight Selections. The film went on to become A24’s highest-grossing domestic horror release, earning nearly $50 million in the U.S. alone and over $92 million worldwide, against a modest $4.5 million budget. While a sequel to Talk to Me is already in development, Bring Her Back is already generating significant buzz, with today’s trailer promising yet another fresh and unsettling narrative from the brothers.
Bring Her Back is slated for release on May 30th. If the trailer is any indication, the Philippou brothers may have found another inventive way of resurrecting the kind of terror we can’t look away from.
