Sadieland Productions has dropped the official trailer for The Sound, the latest horror thriller from filmmaker Brendan Devane — known for 2020’s desert-set nightmare The Canyonlands.

Set to release in theaters and on VOD June 27, 2025, The Sound promises an anxiety-inducing dose of high-altitude suspense and supernatural horror.
Produced, written, and directed by Devane, The Sound assembles a standout ensemble cast including Marc Hills (“Elephant Department”), Rachel Finninger (“American Horror Story”), Nicholas Baroudi (The Hating Game), Jocelyn Hudon (“The Strain”), and genre veteran William Fichtner (Crash, Drive Angry).
Set against the forbidding heights of a long-sealed rock face ominously named the Forbidden Wall, The Sound follows a group of elite climbers lured by the promise of access to its treacherous peaks. For Sean (Hills), the mission is deeply personal: his grandfather vanished during an ill-fated expedition on the same face 63 years ago. But what begins as a quest for glory quickly devolves into a nightmare as the team encounters a malevolent force lurking within the mountain.

Sure to amplifying the film’s tension is a score composed by James Iha of The Smashing Pumpkins. Iha’s previous scoring credits include the soundtrack for the Lionsgate/Hulu series Deadbeat and the score for Melanie Aitkenhead’s Mother, May I Sleep with Danger.
The film is distributed by Blue Harbor Entertainment and scales into theaters and on-demand platforms June 27, 2025.
