Teaser Trailer for Sundance Shocker ‘RESURRECTION’ Renders a Grand Guignol Living Nightmare

IFC Films has just unleashed the first bone-chilling teaser for Andrew Semans‘ 2022 Sundance smash hit shocker Resurrection.

Writer-director Semans’ sophomore feature (following 2012’s Nancy, Please) promises a rousing emotional journey fused with a Grand Guignol living nightmare, introducing audiences to Margaret (Rebecca Hall – The Night House, Godzilla vs. Kong), a woman living a perfectly successful and organized life, perfectly balancing her busy career with the demands of being a single mother to her fiercely independent daughter, Abbie. But despite having managed to balance everything until now, Margaret’s meticulous balancing act gets thrown completely out of whack when an unwelcome ghost from her past, David (Tim Roth – Funny Games, Pulp Fiction), suddenly resurfaces, dragging the horrors of Margaret’s past with him. Grappling with a spiraling fear, Margaret musters the courage to stand up to face the monster she’s spent the last two decades hiding from, who has come to settle their unfinished business.

Resurrection promises to deliver pure havoc one moment and feelings of deep familiarity the next when it releases through IFC Films in theaters and on-demand August 5th. The film will then go in to stream exclusively on Shudder in November 2022.

In the meantime, we’ll leave you with a taster of Sherman’s latest nightmarish creation in the aforementioned first teaser.
