Superhero Sojourn Takes a Hilarious Turn In Trailer For Quentin Dupieux’s ‘SMOKING CAUSES COUGHING’

Picturehouse Entertainment has just debuted the official UK trailer for visionary director Quentin Dupieux’s (Rubber, Deerskin) darkly outrageous superhero movie unlike any other, Smoking Causes Coughing.

Written, shot, edited and directed by Dupieux, and starring an ensemble cast headed up by Gilles Lellouche, Vincent Lacoste, Anaïs Demoustier, Jean-Pascal Zadi and Oulaya Amamra, SMOKING CAUSES COUGHING follows the misadventures of a team of five superheroes known as the Tobacco Force – Benzene, Nicotine, Methanol, Mercury, and Ammonia. After a devastating battle against a diabolical giant turtle, the Tobacco Force is sent on a mandatory week-long retreat to strengthen their decaying group cohesion. Their sojourn goes wonderfully well until Lézardin, Emperor of Evil, decides to annihilate planet Earth.

The film premiered as part of the midnight section of the Cannes Film Festival on 21 May last year and is now slated to release in the UK and Ireland on July 7, 2023. Until then, we’ll leave you with a taste of the hilarious havoc audiences have come to expect and love from Dupieux.
