Starsailor Celebrates 25 Years: James Walsh Talks Special Anniversary Shows and UK Tour [Interview]

Since their debut in 2000, Starsailor has been a staple in the UK’s alternative rock scene, delivering iconic albums and unforgettable tracks that have resonated with fans for decades. From Love Is Here and Silence Is Easy to hits like “Silence Is Easy,” “Alcoholic,” and “Good Souls,” the band’s impact is undeniable. Now, as they approach their 25th anniversary, Starsailor is celebrating their past while looking forward to exciting new plans.

To kick off the anniversary celebrations, the band is all set to perform two special shows at Liverpool’s Tung Auditorium on February 15th. These performances will feature both a matinee and an evening show, each enhanced by a string ensemble conducted by Joe Duddell, adding a new dimension to the band’s signature sound. The string arrangements are a nod to the band’s early work, particularly Silence Is Easy, which included orchestral arrangements that became part of their distinctive style.

The anniversary celebrations don’t stop there. Starsailor has also announced a UK headline tour for November 2025, with tickets now available for purchase.

In an exclusive interview with CinemaChords, frontman James Walsh discussed how the band is marking this significant milestone and reflected on their past while sharing what fans can expect as they move forward. Walsh spoke about how Starsailor continues to evolve, balancing nostalgia with their exciting plans to celebrate this milestone in style.

For full tour dates and ticket information, fans can visit the band’s official website. The 25th anniversary celebrations are just the beginning, and were sure there’ll be so much more to come from Starsailor in at least the next 25 years ahead.
