‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu’ New Trailer Released Ahead of May 2026 Release Date

New trailer still from Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu

A new trailer for Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu has been released, offering the first full look at the next cinematic instalment in the Star Wars franchise. Lucasfilm debuted the trailer today ahead of the film’s theatrical release on May 22, 2026.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the film stars Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, with Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White in supporting roles. Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce serve as producers, and Ludwig Göransson composed the score. The film was shot for IMAX® presentation.

The story continues from the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian,” which follows a Mandalorian bounty hunter protecting a Force-sensitive child, Grogu, from remnants of Imperial forces. The series is set five years after Return of the Jedi (1983). Its first season logged over 5.4 billion minutes of viewing time during its initial run, including 1.15 billion minutes in its premiere week. Season two became the most-watched streaming series in the U.S. in December 2020 and was the first non-Netflix title to reach number one on Nielsen’s streaming chart.

The new film is confirmed to feature Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios and members of the Anzellan species, first introduced in the third season of “The Mandalorian.” A new version of the Razor Crest, the Mandalorian’s ship, will also appear.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is scheduled to open in theaters on May 22, 2026.
