Venice Premiere Set for Oasis Documentary ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ From Steven Knight & Disney+

Liam and Noel Gallagher Don't Look Back in Anger Documentary Venice

A feature documentary chronicling the high-profile reunion of Britpop titans Oasis is heading to the Lido. Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger will host its world premiere at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival before launching a global theatrical and streaming rollout through Disney+ and Hulu.

Created by Oscar-nominated writer-producer Steven Knight (“Peaky Blinders”, “A Thousand Blows”) and directed by the filmmaking duo Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace (Meet Me in the Bathroom, Shut Up and Play the Hits), the film documents Liam and Noel Gallagher’s return to the stage on their Oasis Live ‘25 world tour.

Disney+ and Sony Music Vision are mounting a hybrid distribution strategy for the Magna Studios production. Following its festival debut in Venice, the project will open in select commercial theaters and IMAX auditoriums on September 11. Later in the year, the documentary will head to streaming, landing as an exclusive Hulu Original in the U.S. while streaming via Disney+ internationally.

The documentary captures the band’s sold-out stadium run alongside behind-the-scenes footage, including the first joint on-camera interview given by Noel and Liam Gallagher in more than two decades. Film crews were granted access across all stages of the reunion, tracking the brothers through early rehearsal sessions, backstage preparations, and live concert performances while examining the generational reach of their catalog.

Produced in association with Sony Music Entertainment UK, the film is produced by Sam Bridger (Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now) and Guy Heeley (Locke). Executive producers include Kate Shepherd, Marisa Clifford, Davud Karbassioun, Tom Mackay, Krista Wegener, Thomas Benski, Isabel Davis, and Tim O’Shea. The key technical crew features cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos (Belfast), sound mixers James Mather (Top Gun: Maverick) and Tarn Willers (The Zone of Interest), and editors George Cragg and Martina Zamolo.
