NOTEWORTHY #2: CinemaChords Meets THE KAIROS

Another week, another episode of CinemaChords’ “Noteworthy,” a brand-new series of interviews shining a light on stand-out musicians poised for a prolific 2022.

Today’s second episode in the series welcomes Liverpool four-piece The Kairos, who just last week unleashed their latest stalwart single ‘Round the Bend’; their first release in the better part of two years. Buzzing to be back, the band shared their high spirits on Facebook: “To be putting music out again and seeing the reaction to our band coming back has overwhelmed us 4, and we are still humbled by the support we get off our boss click we get to call a following.”

Comprised of Tom Dempsey (guitar and vocals), Owen Forrester (bass), Lewis Chambers (guitar), and Sam Bradley (drums and backing vocals) who got together as a result of a “happy accident,” the Formby-based band amassed a wholesome fan base on the back of a string of momentous gigs on the local circuit and their first two rollicking, red-blooded releases, ‘Money Mind’ and ‘Teetotal’.

The highly-anticipated comeback track, ‘Round the Bend’ sees the band coming back out of their corner, fighting fit and all guitars blazing, backed up with a music video boasting some jaw-droppingly impressive cinematography and editing that puts many a feature film director’s endeavours to shame.

Last Friday, when tickets went on sale for the band’s upcoming EBGBs concert – and started selling like nobody’s business – CinemaChords’ Howard Gorman caught up with front-man, Tom Dempsey to discuss rising above numerous obstacles and how lockdown has given them time to refine and redefine themselves, both on a personal level and as a band. When it came to speaking about future releases, Dempsey was reticent to spill the beans, but, his buttoned-upness has this writer all the more intrigued as to what the future holds for one of Liverpool’s buzziest and brightest hopes for 2022.

Get ready to feel them coming over…
