New ‘The Carpenter’s Son’ Teaser Sears with Pulsing Prophetic Horror and Nicolas Cage’s Tormented Cry

Magnolia Pictures has today debuted a second teaser trailer for The Carpenter’s Son, the French-American horror epic of biblical proportions from director Lotfy Nathan (Harka), and starring Nicolas CageFKA TwigsNoah Jupe, and Souheila Yacoub. Where the first teaser merely hinted, this 24-second glimpse tears the curtain wide — flooding the screen with flashes of stylized dread and sacred horror from this sacred story turned nightmare.

Inspired by the apocryphal Infancy Gospel of Thomas, The Carpenter’s Son offers a dark and daring retelling of the “missing years” of a divine childhood. Set in Roman Egypt, the film follows a fugitive family and their enigmatic child — known only as “the Boy” — whose growing powers stir fear, awe, and ultimately rebellion. When a second mysterious child appears, the Boy’s faith in his guardian — the Carpenter — begins to crack, setting off a series of events that suggest his destiny may be more curse than calling.

Cage, who’s no stranger to walking the line between prophet and madman, is surely the perfect choice, more than capable of embrace chaos while still grounding it in humanity.

“This is a genre-bending spectacle that defies expectations at every turn,” said Magnolia Pictures co-CEOs Eamonn Bowles and Dori Begley. The film was produced by Julie Viez for Cinenovo, with Alex Hughes and Riccardo Maddalosso at Spacemaker, and Cage producing through Saturn Films. Executive producers include David Levine and Nick Shumaker (Anonymous Content), Noëmie Devide (Goodfellas), Jennifer Venditti, Lotfy Nathan, Theo Vieljeux, and Eugene Kotlyarenko (Spacemaker).

With its arresting imagery, mythic scope, and a star turn from Cage that might be his most prophetically strange yet, The Carpenter’s Son is sure to be, if it isn’t already, one of the most anticipated horror films of the year. Whether it turns water into wine or blood remains to be seen — but for now, we have faith in Nathan and Cage’s dark gospel.

The Carpenter’s Son is slated to arrive Fall 2025 AD.
