Apple TV+ has just released the trailer for “Dope Thief,” its new eight-episode crime drama set to debut on March 14, 2025. The first two episodes will be available on that date, with new episodes following every Friday through April 25, 2025.
Based on Dennis Tafoya‘s eponymous novel, the series follows a group of long-time friends from Philadelphia who, while posing as DEA agents, attempt to rob a house in the countryside. What starts as a small-time grift quickly spirals into something much bigger as they uncover a major narcotics operation on the Eastern seaboard.
The series is executive produced by Ridley Scott, who also directs the first episode, and created by Peter Craig. The star-studded cast is led by Academy, Emmy and Tony Award-nominee Brian Tyree Henry (Bullet Train, The Fire Inside), who also serves as executive producer, alongside Wagner Moura (Civil War, “Shining Girls”), Marin Ireland (“Justified: City Primeval,” The Boogeyman), Kate Mulgrew (“Orange is the New Black,” “Star Trek: Voyager”), Nesta Cooper (“See,” “Travelers”), Amir Arison (“The Blacklist”), Dustin Nguyen (“Warrior,” “21 Jump Street”), and Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction, Dawn of the Dead).
Produced by Apple Studios and Scott Free Productions, “Dope Thief” brings together a strong production team with Craig, Scott, Henry, David W. Zucker, Richard Heus, Jordan Sheehan, Clayton Krueger, and Jennifer Wiley-Moxley as executive producers.
