It’s been a whirlwind end to the year for Manchester’s own ROLLA, and if their recent successes are anything to go by, they’re only getting started! The anthemic rock quartet has been riding high on their explosive single “It Ain’t Easy”, which dropped with a bang, crowned X-Posure Hot One on Radio X by John Kennedy and snagging Record of the Week on XS Manchester courtesy of Jim Salveson.
And to top it all off, the band shook the very foundation of Manchester’s iconic Salford Lads’ Club with a special benefit gig that helped raise over £5,000 to ensure the venue’s future.
Now, ROLLA is hitting the ground rolling with a triple whammy of exciting news that’s sure to have fans buzzing well into 2025. First up, the band has announced the release of their brand-new EP We Owe You Nothing, dropping March 7th. The EP marks their first release with Run On Records (home to The Royston Club) and will feature the previously released “It Ain’t Easy” alongside two fresh tracks, “Beautiful Lie” and “The Slide”. And if you’ve been waiting to get your hands on some vinyl, now’s your chance – their debut vinyl release is available for pre-order here!
But that’s not all. ROLLA is gearing up for their biggest-ever headline show at Manchester’s legendary New Century Hall on May 3rd, and tickets are already on sale here. This 1300-capacity venue represents a major leap in the band’s growing stature. From supporting Kasabian on massive stages to playing festivals across the country, ROLLA has already proved they’re more than capable of headlining arenas. Now, with their own headline gig in a venue that’s been a cornerstone of Manchester’s music scene, it’s clear they’re taking things to the next level.
“This is more than just a gig,” says the band. “It’s a defining moment for the band and our fans – a coming together of everything we’ve built so far and we mean to make it special. It’s gonna go off. New Century Hall is a proper Manchester institution. It’s been a part of the city’s music scene for decades, and after its recent revival it’s sounding and looking better than ever. We can’t wait to fill it out with our sound.”
If you’re eager to get a taste of the high-octane ROLLA live experience, be sure to check out the brand-new video for “It’s So Easy”. Filmed during their sold-out Salford Lads’ Club gig, the video is a wild ride through blistering live footage, incredible fan energy, and behind-the-scenes moments that capture the heart of the band’s journey so far.
But that Salford Lads’ Club gig was more than just a show for ROLLA. “The Salford Lads Club gig was an unforgettable night, inside such an amazing building and you could definitely feel the history in there,” they say. “Every single person involved played a massive part in helping us put on an amazing show and raise over £5000. A huge thank you to David Charles’ TMT band merch company for donating the t-shirts and contributing massively to the total. Thank you also to all the fans that made it so special.”
With just one more show on the horizon—supporting The K’s at a sold-out Leicester O2 Academy this Thursday—ROLLA is wrapping up an incredible year. But don’t blink, because 2025 is shaping up to be even bigger. Keep your eyes peeled for more electrifying music, sold-out shows, and all-around rock ‘n’ roll brilliance from one of Manchester’s brightest rising stars.
To celebrate the end of the year in style with ROLLA, CinemaChords’ caught up with members of the band to try and find out as much as possible about the forthcoming EP, how their music might have developed compared to previous releases, and where fans will be able to catch them live in the new year – hint: there’s a huge headlining gig on the cards.
